Splashing possibilities to be used.

Honnevje rest area is sited on the west bank of the river Otra in the municipality of Valle. There are toilets, tables and an area for bathing and fishing. It has good accessibility for the handicapped. In 2011 it was awarded «rest area of the year»[1] by NAF (the norwegian equivalent of the RAC / AAA). It is not built for camping, there are three possibilities within a 5–10 minutes drive from here: Flateland Camping and Sanden Såre at Oveinang to the north, and Valle Motell og Camp at the centre of Valle. A bike-path along Riksveg 9 gives cyclists a safer access to the shops in the centre of Valle.

The bathing-area has pools of different depths, and there are also bridges with railings leading to a campfire-site on an island in the middle of the river. Pontoons accessible by wheelchair are present.

But as always: please be careful if venturing outside of the marked areas, the river is forceful and can be dangerous.

Honnevje rest area was built while Ånund K. Homme was member of the executive committee of Valle kommune. Official funding was arranged, and work started. The result of a good cooperation with Vegvesenet is a practical area where motorists and other travellers can take a break.
