Masinde Muliro.
Masinde Mulirowas among the first generation of Western educated Kenyans who became politically active in the 1940s and 1950s .He joined the independence struggle through the Kenya African Union {KAU} and later became a founding member of KADU, under leaders like Ronald Ngala and championed Majimboism ,advocating for a federal system of governance that would protect the interests of minority communities in the newly independent Kenya. In the 1980s, he became a leading voice in the push for multiparty democracy, co-founding the FORD Kenya alongside leaders such as Jaramogi Oginga Odinga and Kenneth Matiba. His legacy endures through institutions like Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology, named in his honour and through the democratic ideals he championed.
