Tom Mboya.
Tom Mboya 1930-1969, was a major political leader in Kenya until his assassination six years after his country had achieved independence. He was a key nationalist figure in the days of the Mau Mau rebellion, led by the Kikuyu people against the European ownership of land. He was a founder member of Kenya African National Union in 1960.He served as a minister for economic planning and development, laying a strong foundation for a strong mixed economy.Tom Mboya street , Tom Mboya university are institutions built in his memory.
