[[Kong Hane]] skal ha levd på 1000-talet, og rådde over heile Bygland. Segna seier at Olav den Heilage kom på kristningsferd til [[Setesdal]]. Kong Hane samla ein hær frå alle bygdene omkring for å slost mot kongen. Slaget skal ha stått ved Ellingstjønn, nord for Bygland. Kong Hane fall, og vart gravlagd i Hanehaug. Den heilage kvite trollkua hans, Audhumbla, vart gravlagd i ein haug ved sida, kalla [[Kjyrehaug]].<br />
