Stien har om lag 800 meter stigning og er tung å gå, men det er ingen vanskelege parti. Lengda er ca. 9 km tur/retur. Valefjell er eit godt utgangspunkt for vandreturar vidare i fjellet. Nordover går det ein merka «panoramasti» til [[Bispevegen]].
